Becky's Hope helps hundreds of families with special needs children through retreats in Romania.
These annual retreats provide educational & biblical training, support, and much needed rest.
As a result of these retreats, support groups have been formed all over Romania and
awareness has been raised for special need families. Our hope is that parents of special
needs children will experience a glimpse of heaven and that siblings will recieve spirtual
healing to accept their special needs brother or sister.
While still living in Romania, Becky's mother Lidia, was exposed to radiation during the
Chernobyl disaster. Becky, along with hundreds of other children, were born with
severe birth defects. Becky has severe spinabifida and is confined to a wheelchair. In
Romania, birth defects are considered a curse, and families of these children are shut
out from their neighbors and churches.
Becky and Lidia travel yearly to Romania and also visit Romania churches in the
United States and Australia. They share the hope that knowing Jesus can bring to
their lives. They have retreats and conferences, sharing the Gospel and bringing
in psychiatrists and psychologist to minister to and help these hurting families
to understand how their children can be a blessing and not a curse.
