Statement of Faith

We believe the Bible to be the inspired Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons:  Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.

About Lidia & Becky's Hope

Lidia, along with her husband Mircea and son Mike, immigrated to America in July 1987. Shortly after, on September 30th, Becky Oprean was born with spina bifida. Lidia & Mircea faced a harrowing time in their life. With having been in America for only 2 months, they experienced challenges through daily trips to the hospital to be with their newborn daughter, enduring multiple surgeries and extended stays for weeks at a time.

Lidia was in a state of shock and despair, crying out to God and asking why He had allowed this to happen to her and her family. With time and prayer came healing, and Lidia found, not only acceptance, but a realization that Becky was a gift and a blessing to her and her family.

As time passed Lidia, Mircea and Becky became involved with Joni & Friends Ministry, specifically Wheels for the World, where they would take yearly trips to Romania to distribute wheelchairs to those that could not afford to buy one. During one memorable trip, Lidia realized that, although the physical and material needs were being met, it was the spiritual and emotional needs that these families were struggling with that were not being addressed.

And so Becky's Hope Ministries was born. Lidia realized that along with the physical need, there is a deeper need of finding acceptance and peace, doing away with the bitterness and anger that a parent or sibling may feel toward the special needs child that God had given to them. Since 2003, Becky's Hope has been doing just that.

Throughout the year's, Becky's Hope has made an impression on a lot of people including the then president George W. Bush who in 2009 presented Becky with the Presidential Volunteer Service Award (read full article here).

Sorrowfully, Becky passed away in January of 2015 and although this time of grief and sadness surrounds our hearts, Lidia is more passionate and dedicated than ever to continue blessing others in her memory.
