(Lydia) Thank you Becky. We'll hear more from you in a minute.
People who see Becky notice two things. One of course one is the wheelchair but the other is her smile- a smile that reflects a confidence that she is loved by God and that there is a purpose for her life. Obviously the words of the Psalm are powerful to any audience who hears her speak- but can you imagine the hope they bring to the disabled and their families in Romania where for decades the imperfect were hidden?
Can you imagine the power of taking an argument against the existence of a caring God- an innocent child born with terrible physical burdens- and turning it into a ringing testimony of God's compassion and love?
Eighteen years ago I couldn't either. And while doctors warned us that there 10 percent as a direct promise from God. I never doubted she would be born as perfect as our first child, Mike.
How little I knew of God.
But before those awful times in that hospital God was doing a good work in our lives...
